Dear Mr Attwood and Mr Evans
First of all thank you for providing such great advice!
I have two questions:
1) How can I learn to deal with intense emotions? My emotions tend to overwhelm me and the only way of dealing with them is biting my hand or pinching me really hard. Is there a better way of how to deal with emotions and to make them less intense and overwhelming?
2) I`m currently taking part in a KOMPASS-training for social competences; one section deals with recognising emotions in other people by looking at their eyes. My problem is that I just can`t (and wont) look someone else in the eye - what can I do to learn that? I really try, but just don`t manage. Without this ability the training seems a bit useless (at least for the part of recognising other people`s emotions in their eyes).
I might have some advice for those having sleep-related problems: I`ve been using a weighted blanket recently; it helps to calm me down, I go to sleep more easily and wont wake as often as usual. Those who like heavy things (like always carrying a heavy backpack or wearing sturdy shoes) might give it a try - one does feel so much better with a good nights sleep!
Thanks for providing advice and giving hope to ASDs; you have helped me a lot so far!
All the best and a great New Year,
aspinaut
